The Lansky Deluxe Knife Sharpening System is a great tool for sharpening all types of steel blades. The sharpening stones in this kit are capable of sharpening any steel, including hardened steel blades. The kit comes with flat stones, which work well on convex curved blades, but there are also curved stones available for concave blades and stones for serrated blades. The whetstones in this kit are durable and long-lasting, with no signs of dishing even after multiple uses. To clean the stones, it is recommended to add more oil to float out the metal swarf and use a magnet wrapped in cling film to remove the metal. It is possible to add 3000 and/or 8000 grit stones to this set, but it is unclear whether they are diamond-coated or not. This system can also be used to sharpen small hatchets, but it is recommended to use the stones freehand and secure the hatchet in a vise for best results. Overall, the Lansky Deluxe Knife Sharpening System is an excellent product that is easy to use and delivers razor-sharp results when used correctly.
