Robart Pin 308 Editorial Review
The Robart Manufacturing Steel Pin Hinge Points are a great option for RC airplane enthusiasts looking for durable and easy-to-install hinge points. These hinge points are particularly useful for mid-size models, up to 30cc. They come in a range of sizes and are made perfectly ready to use for your aircraft. The genuine Robart hinge points are of good quality and worth the extra cost compared to cheaper copies on the market. One customer mentioned that they prefer hinge point style over CA hinges or flat pinned nylon hinges because they are easier to use and install. They typically glue these in with 5-minute epoxy and have had good results. However, they caution that it's important to put the epoxy in the hole and not on the hinge's "steps" to avoid getting it on the pin/hinge. If you do get epoxy on the pin/hinge, you can use a small brush and isopropyl alcohol to clean it off. Other customers have used these hinge points to repair broken hinge lines on their planes and found them to be a great replacement hinge. They are easy to install with an 1/8th drill bit and foam glue. One customer even purchased the Robart hand-held drill jig to ensure the hole they were drilling was perfectly square.
