- When Light Yagami finds a notebook giving him power over death, will he use it for good—or evil? Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects--and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But when criminals begin dropping dead, the authorities send the legendary detective L to track down the killer. With L hot on his heels, will Light lose sight of his noble goal...or his life? Light is chafing under L's extreme surveillance, but even 64 microphones and cameras hidden in his room aren't enough to stop Light. He steps up the game, but before the battle of wits can really begin, a family emergency distracts him. But even though Light isn't using the Death Note right now, someone else is! Who's the new Kira in town?

English Edition Tsugumi Ohba Censorship Editorial Review
**Editorial Review of Death Note, Vol. 3** In the third volume of "Death Note," readers continue to be captivated by the twisted moral dilemmas and psychological battles that define this iconic series. The narrative ramps up with increased tension as Light Yagami's persona becomes more complex, showcasing his cunning and manipulative nature in an escalating cat-and-mouse game with his adversaries. The writing remains sharp and engaging, allowing readers to delve deeper into both Light's psyche and the formidable intelligence of his opponents, namely L. Artwork in this volume continues to deliver a darkly atmospheric tone that perfectly complements the story’s themes of justice, power, and Consequence. The detailed illustrations enhance the unfolding drama and keep the reader visually invested. Additionally, character development shines, particularly with the intricate array of supporting characters that add layers of intrigue and depth to the plot. Fans of psychological thrillers will appreciate the philosophical questions posed, and the storyline's ability to pivot between action, suspense, and moral conflict is well-executed. This volume neatly builds upon the foundation laid in previous installments while intensifying the stakes, leaving readers eager for more. Overall, "Death Note, Vol. 3" has received praise for its compelling narrative, character complexity, and high-stakes tension, solidifying its place as a standout in the genre. **
