The MIDI 4x4 USB MIDI interface is a class compliant device that works with any modern computer with a USB port without any additional drivers. It is compatible with any software that reads/writes to the MIDI interface. The interface does not cause lockups or squealing. However, it does have an absurdly bright blue LED, which is a pet peeve for some. The metal case is nice, but it is a little awkward routing four inputs and outputs since the jacks are on both sides of the case, and each input/output pair is next to each other. This product can be used for electronic drums and MIDI footswitch to change VST presets, it provides four distinct MIDI interfaces to a PC or MAC, and it allows the computer to control and be controlled by other MIDI devices. It works well for getting all the factory patches back on old synths with patches and is a good alternative to more expensive and complicated MIDI interfaces. However, some customers have reported that it's not reliable in sending sysex messages, which is required for older synths that do not have USB and need to be controlled through sysex. There are also some compatibility issues with Reaper. The interface comes with no technical support or warranty in the USA and is not recommended for other devices besides MIDI.
